When wildfires rage, the 146th Airlift Wing of the California Air National Guard, better known as the “Hollywood Guard”answers the call.
Their C-130J Super Hercules, fitted with the Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (MAFFS), can unleash thousands of gallons of fire retardant in a single drop, painting a protective line between flames and communities.
From the Pacific Palisades to the toughest terrain across California, these aerial heroes bring precision, power, and life-saving impact wherever they fly. And when the National Interagency Fire Center calls, they deliver with the Secretary of Defense’s green light backing them up.
