Edwards Air force base kc-135R “Ghost tanker”

The KC-135R “Ghost Tanker” from Edwards Air Force Base is America’s only flight-test tanker and it’s heading to Huntington Beach!

Specially instrumented with unique test systems, the Ghost Tanker rapidly collects and validates data during aerial refueling trials. Its work helps ensure both current and emerging U.S. Air Force aircraft can receive fuel safely and effectively - anytime, anywhere, across the mission.

The aircraft is operated by joint aircrews from the 418th Flight Test Squadron, the Global Reach Combined Test Force, and the Air Force Reserve Command’s 370th Flight Test Squadron.
