The future of aerial refueling has arrived.

The KC-46A Pegasus is the U.S. Air Force’s next-generation tanker, built to refuel aircraft in flight while also supporting cargo, passenger and aeromedical evacuation missions around the world.

At Edwards Air Force Base, the KC-46 undergoes developmental testing that helps expand its capability and prepare it for the demands of modern operations.

That work is driven by the 412th Test Wing, alongside joint aircrews from the 418th Flight Test Squadron, the Global Reach Combined Test Force, and the Air Force Reserve Command’s 370th Flight Test Squadron.

Active-duty Airmen, reservists and civilians work shoulder-to-shoulder to sharpen airpower for the warfighter.
