NASA F-15 & F/A-18 Flybys

The F/A-18 has a different kind of mission at NASA.

Based at the Armstrong Flight Research Center, the aircraft serves as a high-performance research and chase jet—flying alongside experimental aircraft while pilots, engineers and camera crews monitor tests and capture critical information from the air.

The F/A-18 also supports pilot training and proficiency, helping NASA crews stay ready for some of the agency’s most demanding flight programs.

When NASA needs to keep up with the future of aviation, this is one of the jets it sends.
